
Castle Roofing Hull suggested we replace our guttering that was rotten during a home visit. We had respected their opinion that it neeed doing and their confidence they could do the job.
They suggested what was needed do the job in a quote and we agreed. Regrettably they did not do what they intended to do – leaving the guttering in a worse position than when they replaced it, with water leaking from both sides at the join.
They became aggressive in demanding payment when they had failed to fix it after three visits, which I pointed out was because they had not done the job properly, and then once I paid up stopped responding to messages.
Four months after installing they’d still not fixed it. I wrote to them asking for an amicable solution or a refund, which they also ignored, and have continued to ignore my communications.
The company claims they offer a 15-year guarantee, but it’s not worth the paper it was written on. We’ve now had to pay someone else to do the job they failed to do, leaving us out of pocket.
The courts have now applied a County Court Judgement against the firm after the trader failed to respond. They’ve also failed to acknowledge any of my court documentation. Even getting hold of their address was difficult enough!
I don’t take lightly writing a bad review, but I feel this should be a warning.
Sadly they have subsequently blocked me on social media.
